Ah hello again. Just wanted to give a quick update on what we've been up to...
So, a couple of weeks ago I broke down and got a membership to the lowest of low quality rock climbing gyms in Southeast Asia. The one and only gym in Chiang Mai, and by far the worst gym I've ever seen, but I'm slowing starting to grow bulging, popeye-like finger tendons in my forearms again. How exciting!
The other day we went to Burger King. It was the first time we have been to a BK in, oh...at least 7 months... And it was delicious...
We have just finished our first week in our 3 week Thai language course. It's been so fun! Our teacher, Aom, is really fun, and keeps our lessons entertaining. It has been very productive for us, and we have had lots of opportunities to practice what we've learned with people at work or in restaurants.
Not sure what our plans are for this weekend. We want to get out of town for a day trip maybe, but we're not sure. We've been doing a lot more outdoor rock climbing lately, so we may head out to the crag. We'll see!
Kat's been teaching a medium lot lately, and I have not been teaching a lot. It's been harder to find work lately, not sure if it's related to what's going on with the economy, but it's affecting pretty much every English teacher I know. Seems to be slowing down in Chiang Mai anyway.
Last update: We bought an electric frying pan / pot, so we've cooked for ourselves a few times for the first time since we've been here. A Thai girl we work with lives upstairs from us and has been showing Kat how to cook a few Thai dishes. What's sad though, is that even if we learned how to cook Thai food really well, you'd never be able to find the ingredients in the U.S. to make it (isn't MSG illegal in every state except Hawaii?? Smiley face, wink, wink, smiley face)
Anyway, found some old, fun pictures and put them up.

Oh haha! That's not even me, it's Kathy. What is Kathy doing? :)
I thought it was Karen at first glance too. Actually, second glance. At first glance I thought, hey, that girl has the same jacket as me. A fitting photo, seeing as we're quickly approaching The End of the World As We Know It!
