Myrtle the Turtle and Splashy the Whale Eating a Noni Fruit

Wow!!! What a day!!... ha ha... What a few last couple days!!!

This is Kathy writing and I'm going to use this beautiful Aubergine font color from now on... Jeff can use something more boyish like... Navy blue or Army green... but I'm going to stick with vegetables and fruits... (maybe Peach next time) :)

Kauai is BEAUTIFUL!! It's very green has tall cliffs and very nice beaches.

We've spent our time here snorkeling, exploring new beaches and places, and enjoying the fact that finally we get to sleep in. The coolest thing about sleeping in on Hawaii is that we're 3 hrs. behind Utah time, which means it feels like you slept till 11 or noon but when you look at the clock it's only 8 or 9am. AWESOME!! :)

So snorkeling: There are lots and LOTS of really pretty colorful fish.. my favorite one is the kind that's bright orange and pink and green...Anyway... so I was snorkeling along and SUDDENLY... I feel a tug on my fin... I turn around.. and it's a SHARK... hahah... nope.. it was just Jeff... but he's pointing at this big shadow in the water... and yes... there she was... MYRTLE the turtle!!! WHAT an AWESOME experience!!! Turtles are just sooo graceful and... SLOW in the water... and it's fun to swim above or next to them.

The other cool thing was that we went to this lookout point and you can actually see whales jumping... so cool! Unfortunately, we didn't have binoculars so we couldn't see them very well.. but we knew they were there and we knew they were jumping. :)

Have you guys ever had a passion fruit? We bought some from this little farmer's market and had some for the first time... HOLY COW!!! they are SOOOO YUMMY!!! We also had this things called a cream apple. Looks like an apple sized plum but tastes really sweet and as the name gives away... creamy!! also YUMMY!!! :)

On Saturday, we drove up Waimea Canyon. They call it the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.. It was pretty impressive. The only thing is that once you're way up there it's so foggy up there that it's kinda hard to see it's magnitude.

Yesterday, we found a GIGANTIC Noni Tree... And it didn't even smell as bad as everyone makes it out to be. In fact, it didn't have a smell at all unless you try to eat a really ripe fruit :) YEAY for NONI!!! :)

Today, we did we did this really cool hike. It's called the Kalalau Trail and it follows the Napali Coast.. It was pretty hard, very muddy and extremely beautiful!!! Amazing!! You can see all these gigantic green cliffs. It's awesome! I don't know if the pictures actually do it justice.. probably not, but at least you get the idea..

Anyway... now we're sore, tired and above all... SUNBURNED... ouch... good thing we picked all those Noni fruit! :)

Well. This is getting a little long... so we're gonna go eat some AHI now.. :)
