An updaaaaaaaaate

Well hello.
We went on a short trip with Beverly, Alan, Miggy, and some other friends to a place in Cebu called Kawasan Falls. We had a lot of fun swimming in the beautiful water and seeing the various falls.

We ended our Philippines trip in Boracay, a small and beautiful island with white sand beaches and bright blue water. We went on a few snorkeling trips and saw a lot of interesting things in the water; lots of brightly colored fish and coral, and even a few poisonous sea snakes called sea kraits. We had a few days of rain while we were there, but we made a couple of friends and were able to pass the time hanging out and playing cards. Just before we got on a boat to do an island tour, our camera fell in the water and DIED. Unfortunately we had about a week camera-less, but we tried to get some awesome 3 megapixel photos with our video camera.

For the last couple of days we were in Kuala Lumpur, the capitol of Malaysia. It's a huge city that has a lot of skyscrapers. They have the Petronas Towers, which were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004. It's a cultural melting pot for Asia. People from every ethnicity and religion are there. We had a lot of fun eating new foods, shopping, and people watching. We were also able to find a new camera, but it was on the last night before we left, so we don't have many pictures. KL has Asia's largest climbing gym, and we were able to spend an afternoon there. It was awesome! Only problem was we didn't bring any of our own equipment and had to rent German-mountain-climber boots instead of using our own climbing shoes. They made us wear socks with them too.

We arrived early this morning in Kuching, which is on the Malaysian side of Borneo. It's a very beautiful city between two massive rivers. It's called "Cat City" because it's named after the Malay word for cat. Karen would totally love it here; there are sooo many cat statues :) We wandered around the town today and took a few pictures with our sweet, new camera.

Tomorrow we're going to Bako National Park where we'll be living it up with proboscis monkeys and hopefully a few interesting reptiles, arachnids, and insects for a few days.
